Establishment of a European network for demo and long-term observation sites.

Participation in the International Co-operative Programme on the Assessment and Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests (ICP Forests).

Quantification of synergies and trade-offs in forest management objectives.

Implementation of pilot climate-smart forestry measures.

Alignment with European Green Deal objectives.

Contribution to climate change mitigation and adaptation policies.

Engagement of stakeholders, including local communities, forest owners, and industries.

Effectiveness of proposed restoration and adaptive forest management practices.

Proposals not aligned with the objectives of the European Green Deal and EU forest strategy.

Projects failing to engage with key stakeholders or lacking societal engagement.

Beneficiaries must provide financial support to third parties in the form of grants, with a maximum of EUR 150,000 per third party.

Up to 40% of the project budget is expected to be devoted to grants to third parties.

Proposals must comply with the requirements outlined in the Horizon Europe Work Programme General Annexes.

Submission and evaluation processes are described in Annex F of the Work Programme General Annexes.

Proposals must include a task to collaborate with other related projects.

Proposals should consider collaboration with the EU Observatory on Deforestation and Forest Degradation.
